My Hometown Kangwon-do

Hi, I'm sunyoung. My hometown is the northeast province of kangwon-do which is one of the least populated, most mountainous and scenic in South korea. Historically , the province has been isolated due to its rugged terrain, and during the korean war it was the site of many fierce battles for strategic mountain tops. After the war, the area’s rich natural resources, including coal and timber, were industrialised, bringing road and rail links.
Outdoor activities come here, Wonju and then enjoy their spectacular mountain and valley hiking, swimming at beatiful white-sand beaches, white-water rafting, all of which are accessible by bus.

Hi Sunyoung,

So you can ski in winter and swim in the summer. That sounds good!
What about the food in your region? Is it different to food in other parts of Korea?

James.
